Weight is the spec that decides if you ride it
An e-bike's weight barely matters while you're riding it — the motor is carrying it, not you. Weight matters in the five minutes on either side of the ride: getting it out of a garage past a car, up a step or two to a front door, onto a hitch rack, into a trunk. That's where a bike either stays in your routine or quietly stops being used.
This is also why a general-purpose e-bike review is a poor guide here. A reviewer who rolls a bike out of a ground-floor garage will call 70 lbs “fine.” If your bike lives up an exterior staircase, 70 lbs is not fine, and no amount of motor power fixes it. So before comparing models, answer one question honestly: what do I have to do with this bike when I'm not riding it? If the answer includes the word “lift,” weight is your primary spec and everything else is secondary.
Two things make an e-bike heavy: the battery and the frame. Battery capacity you generally want, so the frame is where a well-built lightweight bike earns its number. Two weight numbers — read both
Lightweight e-bike listings mix two very different figures, sometimes deliberately:
- Frame weight — the bare frame, no motor, battery, wheels or drivetrain. It tells you how good the frame engineering is, and nothing about what you'll lift.
- Total (complete-bike) weight — the whole bike as it rolls, batteries installed. This is the only number your arms and back will ever meet.

Fit is a measurement, not a color
“Women's” in e-bike marketing usually means a colorway and a slightly different saddle. What actually determines whether a bike fits you is published as plain numbers, and they're the ones to demand:
- Rider height range. Mihogo rates the Air Max for riders from 5'1" to 6'5" (155–195 cm). A range that wide is common for folding frames, but treat the bottom end as a starting point, not a promise of comfort: if you're at 5'1"–5'3", the question isn't whether you can reach the pedals, it's whether you can put a foot down flat at a stop without stretching.
