None of that weight is wasted on the Tundra — it's a 960 Wh battery, 26″ × 4″ fat tires, a coil suspension fork and a steel-and-aluminum fat-bike chassis. But weight is the spec you pay for every single day if your bike lives up a flight of stairs, goes on a hitch rack, or has to come into an apartment. At 83 lbs, lifting the Tundra onto a car rack is a two-person job for a lot of riders. At 62 lbs, the Air Max is still heavy for a bicycle — it's just in a different category of heavy.

What matters more is that GoTrax's up to 74 miles claim has been independently tested. The Air Max is rated up to 121 miles under ideal pedal-assist conditions. We should be equally clear about what that is: a best-case manufacturer figure, not a third-party test result. Two things are worth separating here, because they get run together constantly. Torque in newton-metres is a motor output rating — how hard the motor pulls. A torque sensor is a different component: it reads how hard you are pedalling and scales assist to match, instead of just detecting that the cranks are turning. The Tundra takes these rows outright.
